This project transformed an unused bay-window area into a beautiful, functional feature that adds both storage and comfort to the room.
Working with my client, the goal was to create a window bench that felt like it had always belonged in the space—clean, simple, and seamlessly integrated with the surrounding walls and trim.
The bench features push-to-open doors, eliminating the need for hardware and keeping the design uncluttered. Each door is accented with applied moldings that mimic traditional wainscoting, giving the bench subtle architectural character without overwhelming the room. The wide, continuous seat offers plenty of space to sit and relax, whether putting on shoes, enjoying a book, or simply taking in the view from the windows.
The finished piece blends practicality with understated design, turning an overlooked corner into a useful and inviting part of the home.
