We recently installed a kitchen we’ve been working on. The perimeter cabinets are painted, the color is called “Featherdown”. The island cabinets are made from teak.

The kitchen also features a pair of floating shelves, along with undercabinet lighting. The bar area has seeded glass doors and glass shelves.

There is also a custom range hood and the island has a wine rack built into one of the cabinets.

And drawers. Lots and lots of drawers.

Very pleased with how this came together.

This is the wine rack cabinet that will be part of the kitchen island. Solid teak. It will house 28 bottles of wine.

There are many designs of wine racks, the advantage of this one is that when the bottles come to rest they are self-centering and will all line up vertically. Probably more important to some people than others, but I like that.

The short video and accompanying pictures show the floating shelf build for the kitchen we are working on. The shelves have a recess for LED lights and will be mounted to the wall using the hardware shown.

The shelves are built from plywood with teak veneer. They were cut on the CNC using a miter fold technique with a 91 degree v-groove bit.

Once finished and installed they will be a beautiful accent on an off-white diagonal tile wall.

An enjoyable and productive first day of the year! Working on the two legs for the kitchen island. Maple plywood with quarter sawn teak veneer. I’m really excited about how these are coming along. Just need to add the moldings and we can start the finishing process.

It’s a busy time in the workshop at the moment. We are in the middle of building the cabinetry for a kitchen, starting on a set of closets, as well as doing the normal host of small projects that come through the door.

The attached renderings show the kitchen we are building. The renderings are an important part of the process and I provide them with all my large projects after a contract is signed. They allow my clients to get a good visual of the project and how it will look in their particular space. Once drawn, any changes or additions are a relatively simple matter to execute. It is easier to make the changes on the computer screen before cutting any wood.

This room used to be external to the house.   My client enclosed the room and created a beautiful and intimate space.   She commissioned us to build and install a set of bookshelves in the alcove that houses the TV.   The shelves will be painted by others.

I was asked to design, build and install a wine rack with stemware moldings to fit in some existing cabinetry. The wine rack was built from alder and stained to match the cabinetry. It was a challenging project as the cabinet opening was smaller than the interior of the cabinet due to the face frame. So the wine rack had to be built in parts and assembled inside the cabinet.

We just recently finished a great collaboration on a kitchen in St Simons Island, GA. The kitchen designer, Annie Martin Francis, of St. Petersburg, FL, completed the design and was sourcing cabinets from a high-quality American factory. However, not all of the customizations she designed were possible in the factory. So, she commissioned us to build a range hood surround, a 111” long island back panel and handle the entire installation. From routing to finish, our additions were a perfect match and integrated seamlessly. The result is a unique and gorgeous kitchen with special custom touches.

We installed this built-in entertainment center today.

The LED lights are dimmable and controlled by a remote.

The center cabinet actually gets two shelves, but in the early morning excitement of loading the trailer, they were somehow forgotten. A bit embarrassing, but a quick return trip after the install and the error was rectified.
